Sigma-X Consultancy has completed the analysis, design and selected drawings for the post tensioned floors for an office development in Hathersage Road, Manchester, England. This building is comprised of two blocks of four and five levels.
The post tensioned floor slabs have a depth of 225mm and required only 14 kg/m2 of mild steel reinforcement. In terms of slab depth and steel quantities large savings were realised by using post tensioning compared to other construction methods.
The image to the left shows the slab, columns and core walls of a floor of the building as modelled in Sigma-X Post Tension Floor software.
This consultancy project was finished ahead of schedule for our client ConForce Ltd, www.conforce.co.uk.
