Currently Fine software serves more than 5000 customers in over 128 countries. The company's geotechnical product is GEO5 which is an abbreviation for Geotechnical Engineering Software.

GEO5 software solves a wide range of geotechnical tasks. In addition to solving common geotechnical engineering tasks, the GEO5 suite includes several highly sophisticated applications for the analysis of tunnels, building damage due to tunnelling, stability of rock slopes and digital terrain modelling. Programs in the GEO5 suite are based on analytical and/or finite element methods.

Geotechnical Engineering Solutions

GEO5 solves commonplace geotechnical tasks such as verification of foundations, walls and the stability of slopes. It also performs specialised tasks such as the analysis of tunnels, building damage due to tunnelling and rock stability.

As each GEO5 program solves a specific geotechnical task engineers need only purchase the programs from the GEO5 suite which match their requirements.

User-Friendly Interface

GEO5 is composed of individual programs which share a common core user interface. This makes all GEO5 programs intuitive and easy to use hence increasing efficiency and productivity.

Program Compatability

GEO5 programs allow seamless transfer of data between individual programs. For instance use GEO5 Stratigraphy to create geological models of your site then select cross-sections from the program and export them to GEO5 Slope Stability for immediate analysis and design.

Tradational Analytical and Finite Element Methods

Traditional analytical methods provide effective and rapid structural analyses, designs and/or verifications. If there is a requirement for greater detail it is possible to transfer analytical models to the GEO5 FEM programs for a more rigorous analysis.

Design and Verification to Codes of Practise

Inaddition to the British and EuroCodes GEO5 software designs and verifies to many other codes of practise. GEO5 uses a unique system of implementing codes and partial factors. GEO5 has a database of codes, however it is possible to create your own settings particular to the codes you are using.

Results Presentation

GEO5 programs generate text and graphical output that can be easily edited as required; i.e. add company logo, insert images. Output can be printed directly from any GEO5 program, saved as a PDF or exported to an external text editor such as Microsoft Word.

Training Materials

GEO5 software is easy to use and does not require any special training. Nevertheless, we provide training materials, which include engineering manuals, tutorials, help and user guides.

GEO5 software can be purchased directly from Sigma-X. The sales process typically involves Sigma-X discussing the technical requirement with the purchaser over the telephone and/or by email.

All purchases are initiated by telephone or email to Sigma-X. We issue a pro forma invoice and then upon approval an invoice. As we do not give credit we issue a receipt and dispatch the software upon receipt of payment.

Customers may purchase GEO5 in Sterling or Euro using bacs, online banking, PayPal or by debit/credit card. Sigma-X banking details are written on our invoices. All sales outside of the Ireland are VAT free if the purchaser provides a VAT number.

GEO5 programs are secured by either a floating (online) license or a hard lock (off line). The user logs onto a floating license.

A Personal level licence is secured to a single compluter. A Business Level license can be installed on upto 10 machines with upto 5 concurrent users. An enterprise Level license can be installed on an unlimited number of machines with an unlimited number of concurrent users.

GEO5 licences are sold on a 12 month subscription basis. Subscriptions include technical support and upgrades.

Maintenance is included in cost to the software purchase price. Maintenance entitles the customer to technical support, upgrades and updates of GEO5 software.

To comply with quality management systems it is a standard requirement to keep software maintained, GEO5 license because they are subscription based are always upto date.

Volume Discounts

Purchases of 3 to 4 programs are discounted by 5%.

Purchases of 5 to 8 programs are discounted by 10%.

Purchases of 9 to 11 programs are discounted by 15%.

Purchases of over 11 programs are discounted by 20%.
